Lardini Hero Slide TOKYO MUSIC ROOM

    TOKYO MUSIC ROOM

To tell the story of a city like Tokyo, observing it is not enough. One must listen to it. This is the intuition behind the editorial and digital project created by Lardini in the Japanese capital: a narrative that brings Italian tailoring into dialogue with one of the most vibrant, sophisticated and layered music scenes on the contemporary cultural landscape.

Tokyo was chosen not merely as a backdrop, but as a true narrative territory. It is a metropolis where tradition and avant-garde coexist naturally, where formal precision meets the unexpected, and where each district generates its own cultural energy. Within this landscape, music becomes a privileged key to understanding the city: not simply as an accompaniment, but as a language capable of revealing its most authentic rhythm.

For Lardini, the relationship with music stems from a shared vision of creative craftsmanship. Like a garment shaped through sartorial precision, a musical composition is built on balance, proportion, rhythm and sensitivity. Both require technique, but also instinct. Both live in the detail, in the ability to transform structure into emotion. In this sense, music becomes a natural extension of the brand’s universe: a way to express elegance, movement and contemporaneity through a more fluid and sensory code.

The project developed in Tokyo explores precisely this affinity. The selected artists are not simply performers, but figures capable of embodying a sensibility close to that of Lardini: cosmopolitan, refined and independent. Through them, the new collection enters into a relationship with the city and its creative scene, becoming part of a spontaneous narrative far removed from artificial poses and overly constructed imagery.

The images follow the artists as they move through the urban landscape, allowing the garments to engage with architecture, natural light, geometric shadows and everyday gestures. Tokyo emerges in a more intimate and sophisticated dimension, far from the visual stereotypes of a chaotic, hyper-coloured metropolis. It is a Tokyo made of pauses, surfaces, crossings and reflections; a city revealed through the rhythm of those who inhabit and create within it.

Giving voice to this narrative are Akira Arasawa and Tendre, two key figures in the local contemporary music scene. Akira Arasawa, DJ and house producer, represents the more international and atmospheric soul of Tokyo’s underground. His sound, moving between organic house, chill mountain and nu disco, translates into music a sense of travel, openness and movement.

Tendre, the solo project of Taro Kawahara, brings a more instrumental and artisanal dimension. A multi-instrumentalist, composer and performer, he creates a sonic universe that blends pop, soul and urban jazz with an almost sartorial precision. His versatility reflects the same attention to detail that lies at the heart of Lardini’s DNA.

In this encounter between fashion and music, Tokyo becomes a contemporary score. Lardini moves through it with its own distinctive gaze, transforming the city into a story of style, sound and cultural identity.
